Filled Easter eggs found their way to the impoverished province of Cataingan in the island of Masbate Philippines during late March. For the first time, the children of St. Vincent Ferrer parish had and Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday. The generous donations from GDD students and their families were brought by Ms. Maria to the island. Over 500 eggs were hidden outside the parish hall. More than fifty children raced around collecting eggs, having never experienced an egg hunt before.
During the same trip Ms. Maria brought almost 200 toothbrushes and toothpaste to residents in Cataimgan. Through generous donation by Colgate, and made possible by local dentist, Dr. Kahn, adults and children got a toothbrush and paste of their own. Ms. Maria even gave a demonstration on how to best clean your teeth!
